NOTICE OF ASHLAND COUNTY CDIS MEETING

January 23, 2025

NOTICE OF ASHLAND COUNTY CDIS MEETING

Ashland County intends to apply to the Ohio Department of Development for funding under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, a federally funded program administered by the State of Ohio.  A requirement of this program is to hold a Community Development Implementation Strategy (CDIS) meeting every odd year.  Township and Village officials are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting.  Information will be mailed to all Township and Village officials regarding this required activity.

The CDBG Program can fund a broad range of activities, including economic development projects; water supply, drainage, and sanitary sewer improvements; park acquisitions and improvements; demolition of unsafe structures; housing assistance programs; and neighborhood facilities and planning.  The activities must be designed to primarily benefit low and moderate-income persons, aid in the prevention or elimination of slums and blight, or meet an urgent need of the community.  The goal of this meeting is to obtain elected official input on projects that need attention in their area of the county.

Citizens and officials from villages and townships are invited and encouraged to attend this meeting on April 7, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. to provide their input on the needs for their individual area of the county.  The meeting will be held in the County Commissioners’ meeting room at 110 Cottage Street, Ashland.

By Order of the Ashland County Commissioners
