Commissioner Bittle began serving Ashland County in 2014. Among his proudest accomplishments to date are spearheading the Ashland County Land Bank in 2018 and initiating the new ORC guidelines allowing counties to partner with non-profits or private entities to outsource dog kennel operations. He has also led the public-private collaboration with local non-profit Homeward Bound to raise over $600k and partner with Ashland County to build a new dog shelter, which will break ground next spring.
Denny strives to develop and maintain conservative fiscal policies for Ashland County and coordinate with local agencies and businesses to promote long-term strategic growth, both socially and economically, for the county’s citizens.
Denny wears many hats in the community. He’s been a small-business owner for over 32 years and serves on numerous boards, including Trinity Lutheran Church and the YMCA.
He and his wife Randi have been married 44 years and share three adult daughters and eight grandchildren. In his spare time, you’ll find Denny working on his and his daughter’s farms, attending his grandchildren’s many activities, and of course on the golf course.
